Jeanne Gray Lindley Rives, 66, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 18, 2010, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Olympia, Washington, to the late Corine Gray Lindley and the late William Ziba Lindley. She grew up in Panama City, Florida, and graduated from Bay High School. She attended Wesleyan College where she graduated with a degree in elementary education in 1966. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School, Children's Church, Vacation Bible School, was a member of the Covenant Sunday School Class, and a participant in many Bible Studies throughout the years. She was also active in her community through the House & Garden Club, Junior League of Macon, and a counselor at Sav A Life Ministries. With an amazing heart for children she always found time for them through tea parties, playing baseball, swimming in the Gulf, and taking her 5th grade Sunday School class to the beach. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Benjamin A. Rives IV of Macon; her children Catherine Rives O'Connell (Pat) of Marietta, GA; Benjamin A. Rives V (Kelly) of Raleigh, NC; her grandchildren Sean William O'Connell, Caroline Elizabeth Rives, Sarah Allen Rives, and Lindley Vaughan Rives; her sister Mary Juliet Lindley Rumph (Wilbur) of Marshallville, GA and brother Malcolm Gray Lindley of Macon, GA; and many loved nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 20th at 2 pm. Visitation will be held immediately following in the Fellowship Hall.
