Jeanne Devoe Dubay, 95, of Macon passed away Friday, November 11, 2020. She was born Jeanne Albert in Eagle Lake on November 15, 1925. She was the daughter of Thomas and Cezarie Albert. She was predeceased by her sons, Charles Devoe and Tom Devoe; three brothers and four sisters; her first husband, Gilman Devoe and second husband, Harold Dubay. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Devoe, Susan Devoe, and Mary Devoe; grandson, Edward Sumpter (Kristen), granddaughter, Kate Bass (James); and many nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was a long-time teacher in the public schools in Eagle Lake. She did volunteer work for several years at St. Mary’s Good Shephard shop. She was happy living by the lake and gardening and taking care of her wooded property. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. She also spent many pleasant hours doing jigsaw puzzles during her later years after she moved south to live with her daughter, Mary. She will be fondly remembered by her family and many former pupils.
