Jean Brogdon: 78, of Carlyle Place, Macon, Ga. passed away Friday, October 24, 2008. A memorial service as well as a celebration of life at Carlyle Place, Macon, Ga. will be held. Burial will be private. Born in Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Brogdon and Myrtle Gordon Brogdon. She was a retired data processing manager from AT&T. and worked in Kansas City, MO, New York and White Plains, NY and Bedminster and Piscataway, NJ. After her retirement in 1987, Jean helped found and became president of the New Jersey Post-Polio Support Organization, which educated polio survivors and the medical profession on post-polio syndrome. After moving to Lake Oconee in 1995, she supported community outreach and chaired several fund raising functions for Circle of Love in Greensboro. Jean enjoyed life at Carlyle Place by managing the Choristers and was very instrumental in fund raising for the Alzheimers Association . She was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church.. She is survived by her brother, Frank Brogdon of Independence, Missouri; Niece, Pat Mikulak of Bishop, Ga. great nephew, Jonathan Mikulak of Chicago, Ill and great nephew Matthew Mikulak, his wife Cameron and sons Mason, Will and Hays of Watkinsville, Ga, and Special Friend, Judy Bock of Greensboro, Ga. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to be made to the Alzheimers' Association, Central Georgia Chapter, 301 Mulberry Street, Suite 201, Macon, Ga. 31201.
