Jason Taft Mercer

Jason Taft Mercer, 47, of Gray, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 6, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel with Dr. Ron McClung officiating.  The family will greet friends following the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.

Jason was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, and friend.  He also loved his extended family very deeply.  He thoroughly enjoyed working on his grandfather’s farm, which he started at a very early age.

Jason was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda; brother, Hunter Little; sister, Hester Brumfield; maternal grandparents, Paul and Helen Folendore; and paternal grandparents, Bobby and Laverne Adams.

Jason is survived by his mother, Debra King (Wade); father, Gary Mercer (Debbie); brother, Scooter Mercer; sister, Abbey Weksler; children, Alexis Mercer, Lance Mercer (Jessica), and Dalton Anderson; and 3 grandchildren, Conner, Emma, and Ella.
