Janet Hudson King

July 22, 1939 — May 23, 2015

Janet Hudson King died Saturday, May 23, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, May 25, in the chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, with the Reverend Joe McDaniel officiating. Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Sunday between 6:00 and 8:00 PM at the Cupola. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or to your local animal rescue group. Mrs. King was a member of Vineville Baptist church and was an avid bridge player. Born in Powder Springs, Georgia, she graduated from Fulton County High School in Atlanta and earned an Associate degree from business school. She worked for several years in the data processing department at Atlanta General Depot, where she was Miss Fire Prevention. She was married to Damon King at First Baptist Church in Forest Park, Georgia on December 31, 1959. She was predeceased by her twin brother, Walter Eugene Hudson, Jr. Mrs. King is survived by her husband, Damon Dee King of Macon; son, David G. King of Lake Sinclair, Georgia; two daughters, DeAnn Hindman (Rusty) of Dadeville, Alabama and Robin Horton (Ben) of Weddington, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Jannah Markham (Will) of Papillion, Nebraska, Carson Singletary of New Orleans, Louisiana, Christiana Horton and Olivia Horton, both of Weddington, North Carolina; sister, Patricia Ann Hudson Barron (Bob) of Lady's Island, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Eddie Jean Hudson of Eatonton, Georgia; and her beloved Min-Pin, Mikey.
