Janet Carole Garrett

Janet Carole Garrett of Macon, formerly of Atlanta, passed away February 8, 2018, following a brief illness. Born June 7, 1954 in Macon, she was the daughter of James Coleman Garrett and Anita Sconyers Garrett. She was a graduate of Stratford Academy where she was a member of DOM Sorority. She attended Wesleyan College and was a Bon Hommes presentee. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Her financial career began at Trust Company Bank and Robinson Humphrey. She relocated to Atlanta, joining Citibank Solomon Smith Barney where she retired in 2008, returning to Macon. Her hobbies included cooking, reading and gardening. She was a member of Vineville Garden Club. Ms. Garrett is preceded in death by her father, James C. Garrett, CPA and her brother, Michael James Garrett. She is survived by her mother, Anita S. Garrett; her sister, Patricia Lamb (Mrs. Richard) of Canton, Georgia; nephew, Robert B. Wheeler of Byron, Georgia; niece, Melanie E. Culbreath (Mrs. Kevin) of Chickamauga, Georgia along with their respective children. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 682 Mulberry Street, Macon, Georgia 31201 with the Reverend Chip Miller officiating. The family will greet friends after the service in the Gathering Place at the church. Burial will be private.
