Jane Moore Rivers, 93, of 753 Malwood Drive, died Monday, September 8, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014, at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street, with the Reverend Dianne Sweckard officiating. Burial will be private in Riverside Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Friday from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Historic Macon Foundation, 935 High Street, Macon, Georgia 31201. Mrs. Rivers was a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church and the Marshall Sunday School Class. She was also a member of Historic Macon, Sidney Lanier Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Red Hat Society. Mrs. Rivers was a graduate of Jones County High School and was Miss Jones County in 1938. Jane adored her family and friends. She was a fan of all sports, an avid gardener, and enjoyed an active life. She was predeceased by her parents, Durwood E. Moore and Mattie Lowe Moore, and her brother, Durwood Earl Moore, Jr. Mrs. Rivers is survived by her daughter, Marian Rivers White (Jim) of Albany, Georgia; sons, Michael Moore "Mickey" Rivers (Marilee) and William Earl "Billy" Rivers (Kathi), both of Macon; grandchildren, Claire Carson (Chris), Gregory Johnson, Michael Rivers, Jr. (Jamey), Dana Rivers, Betsy Fountain (Moyer), Brandon Cabaniss (Chad) and Tyler Rogero; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Regina Chrisman, Barbi Moore and Wallace Moore; special friends, the Golden Girls, Alene, Joanne, Ellen and Dolores.
