Jan Powers

Janet “Jan” Lynn Powers, 67, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Hart’s at the Cupola. Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of Hart’s at the Cupola on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Allan Hornbuckle officiating. Burial will follow the service.

Daughter of Doris Marlowe and the late Leonard Pritchett, Jan was born in Macon on September 5, 1957. She worked for ALFA Insurance as an insurance agent for many years before working as the office manager at the State Farm Office of Alan Parker.

Beyond her professional career, Jan had a love for writing and calligraphy and found great joy in music. She and Mark operated trivia and Karaoke nights at the American Legion, 20’s Pub, and the Forsyth Moose Club. Jan was a member of the Church of Christ, where her faith played a central role in her life.

Jan will be lovingly remembered by her son, Stephen Powers of Macon; daughter, Jamie Powers of Kathleen, Georgia; mother, Doris Marlowe; grandchildren: Lila Powers, Eva Powers, Raya Powers, Peyton Rice, and Journey White; brother, Ken Pritchett of Macon; and boyfriend, Mark Barnes of Macon.

In addition to her father, Jan was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Pritchett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to American Legion Post #3, 5530 Thomaston Road, Macon, GA 31220.
