James "Jimmy" William Beasley, Jr.

James “Jimmy” William Beasley, Jr., 78, of Gray, GA, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 24, 2021, at Plentitude Baptist Church with the Reverend Tommy Freeman officiating.  The family will greet friends Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel.  Burial will be at Plentitude Baptist Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Plentitude Baptist Church Building Fund, 145 Plentitude Church Rd., Gray GA 31032.

Son of the late James William Beasley, Sr. and Myra Edwards Beasley, Jimmy was a devoted Christian man, loving husband, father, and Papa.  He was a deacon at Plentitude Baptist Church.  Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Navy.  He retired from Brown and Williamson after 26 years of service and was an electrician with IBEW Local 1416.  Jimmy was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Michael Beasley and Julian Eugene Beasley.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Trudy Starr Beasley of Gray; children, Debbie Meyer of Jones County and Dianne Josey (Brian) of Gray; grandchildren, Blair Zwaga (Jeremy), Merl Sapp (Emmylou), Josh Josey (Harley); great grandchildren, Braxton Sapp, Madden Sapp, Emberly Abarca, and Rachel Josey; sister, Ann Wilson; sister-in-law, Margie Zebell; and several nieces and nephews.
