James "Bubba" Roquemore

James "Bubba" Roquemore, 49, passed away on January 30, 2009 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church. The Reverend John Prettyman will be officiating. A visitation will be held Monday, February 2, 2009 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM in the chapel at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road.

Bubba was born in Macon, Georgia on July 25, 1959. He graduated from Central Fellowship Christian Academy and Georgia State College with a master's degree in Criminal Justice. He then joined the Monroe County Sheriff's department where he retired as Captain. He was Captain of the Middle Georgia Fugitive Squad. He was also one of 15 law enforcement officers in the United States to be selected to go to Israel to train the Israeli police. Bubba had many medals, awards and accomplishments during his law enforcement career. Along with many other things, Bubba was very active in the community. Bubba was survived by his children, Monica Brown (Lee) of Covington; Tray Roquemore of Macon; Robert Roquemore of Macon; mother, Faye Roquemore; father, James "Pete" Roquemore (B.J.) of Macon; sister, Deborah Long of Warner Robins; brother, Steve Roquemore of Macon; grandchild, Alexis Brown of Covington; nieces, Stephanie and Sierra Roquemore of Macon; nephews, Kyle Hunnicutt (Wendy) of Warner Robins; Kyle Gordon of Macon. He was a loving father, son, brother, grandfather, and uncle. Most of all he loved the Lord.
