James Wilbur Renfroe, Sr.

August 13, 1925 — June 17, 2015

Macon, GA - James Wilbur Renfroe, Sr., 89, entered the gates of Heaven, Wednesday, June 17, 2015. At his passing, he was surrounded by his loving and caring family. A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00PM, Saturday, June 20th at The Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with interment at Macon Memorial Park. Reverend Dan Gatlyn and Reverend Mike Smith will officiate. The family will greet friends from 2:00PM until the service time at the funeral home. Mr. Renfroe was born in Dublin, Georgia to the late Lucian Marvin and Mary Elizabeth Renfroe. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Evelyn; and daughter, Lucille Barbee. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base after 35 years of service. He and Evelyn were faithful members of First Assembly of God Church for 60 years, serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher and recently attended Frontline Ministries in Byron. Always wanting to reach out to others and to serve his Lord and Savior, he led a local prison ministry for 50 years and was active in Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International. Mr. Renfroe is survived by his children, Jimmy Renfroe, Jr., Linda (Mike) Smith, Carol (Richard) Schlette, Mary White, Phyllis (Glenn) Hopper; and 30 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
