James "J.P." Parnell Tyre

Macon-James P. "J.P." Tyre passed away on September 19, 2011. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with Dr. David Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church Building Fund, 6611 Zebulon Road, Macon, Georgia 31210, or donor's favorite charity.

Mr. Tyre was born December 19, 1919. He was born and reared in Baxley, Georgia and lived in Macon for 60 years. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base. During World War II, he served in the Medical Corps - United States Army. Mr. Tyre was a long-time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and Victory Sunday School Class.

Mr. Tyre is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nell Tyre of Macon; daughter, Charlotte Underhill (Otis) of Tilghman Island, Maryland; step-daughter, Wanda Sandifer of Casper, Wyoming; and sister, Fosteen Deen of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.
