James Marvin “Marty” Skinner, 63, of Macon, died Friday, August 20, 2021. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 23, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel with the Reverend Billy Flowers officiating. The family will greet friends Sunday, August 22, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5962 Zebulon Road, PMB 359, Macon, GA 31210.
Son of the late Ernest Loyad and Frances Elizabeth Wooten Skinner, Marty was known for calling his family every day. He was a truck driver for 40 years. He loved his 3-wheeled motorcycle, building model cars and trucks, watching old Western shows, and grilling outside.
Marty was preceded in death by his brothers, Loyad Skinner, Jr., and William Skinner.
Marty is survived by his children, Chris Skinner (Shanta) of Jones County, Joey Skinner of Washington County, Kim Skinner of Warner Robins, Brandi Jordan of Laurens County, Danielle Cox of Roberta, Tiffany Adams (Nathan) of Roberta, and Felicia Sherman (Justin) of Fort Valley; 23 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Marie Cannon (Barkwell), Helen Kent, and Gail Faile (Randall), all of Jones County; and several nieces and nephews.
