James H. "Jim" Hitchcock, Iii

June 27, 1982 — February 5, 2014

James H. "Jim" Hitchcock, III, 31, of Macon, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Hart's at the Cupola. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park. The family may be contacted at the residence of Martha Stewart, 2075 Old Clinton Road. A visitation will begin at 1:00PM at Hart's at the Cupola. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Save-A-Pet, Inc., P. O. Box 933, Forsyth, Georgia 31029. Jim was a 2000 graduate of Mount de Sales Academy where he played soccer. He received a bachelor's degree in philosophy in 2004 from Valdosta State University, graduating summa cum laude. Jim was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Kappa Sigma fraternities. In 2006, he was awarded a master's degree in religion from Georgia State University. Jim was currently enrolled at Georgia College and State University studying for a master's in teaching. He was a part-time employee at Kroger on Tom Hill Boulevard. He loved music, all sports, especially major league baseball and fantasy football with friends. Jim is survived by his mother, Sandra Hunt (Chris) of Canton, Georgia; father, James Hitchcock, Jr. of Macon; step-brothers, Trevor Hunt and Dalton Hunt, both of Canton; grandparents, Martha McMahon Stewart (James) of Macon; step-grandparents, Ken and Roberta Hunt of Canton, Georgia; aunts, Susan Lubbers (David) of Grovetown, Georgia, Sandra McMahon of Macon, Sandra Bishop (Bill) of Tucker, Georgia, Mary Ann Hitchcock of Cleveland, Georgia; Carol Boehm of Macon and Rebecca Hunt of Paige, Texas; cousins, Chuck, Brian, Nicholas, Sara, Sam, Missy and Suzi, and faithful American bulldog companion of twelve years, Lucy.
