James Charlie "J.C." Fennell

James Charlie Fennell, 91, of Macon, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021.  A celebration of life will be held at Riverside United Methodist Church on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., with the Reverends Bart Smith and John Haney officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery (North Gate.)  Memorial contributions in James’ memory may be made to Riverside United Methodist Church at 735 Pierce Avenue, Macon, Georgia 31204.

J.C. was a 1946 graduate of Toombs Central High School, and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.  He retired from Robins Air Force Base after 30 years of service.  He attended Cherokee Heights United Methodist Church and Riverside United Methodist Church, respectively where he taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. J.C. was an avid fisherman, chef, wine connoisseur, story teller, and Georgia Tech fan, who loved his family immensely.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Bowden Fennell; sons, Ken Fennell and Steve Bowden; parents, J.P. and Margie Walker Fennell; and siblings, Francis Fennell and Betty Ann Fountain.

Survivors include his daughters, Jamie Lewandowski (Steve) and Suzann Smith (Ricky); son Henry Bowden (Dru); daughters-in-law, Bridget Fennell and Pam Bowden; eleven grandchildren, Lisa Miller (Lance), Shelby Peacock (Kyle), Holly Lewandowski, Clay Waddell (Ansley), Bart Smith (Liz), Elizabeth Hernandez (Stevan), Steven Bowden (Megan), Louise Taylor (Brent), Hank Bowden, Emily Fennell, and John Christian Fennell; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

The family sends their heartfelt thanks to our faithful care giver and friends, Rhonda Rose Wimberly and Lenora Mathis, for the love and care they have extended over many years, and the wonderful care givers of Home Instead Senior Care.

Hart’s at the Cupola, Hart's Mortuary and Cremation Center, 6324 Peake Rd, Macon, GA 31210 has charge of the arrangements.
