James Louis “Jamie” Gibson

James Louis “Jamie” Gibson, 71, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on July 11, 2025. A visitation will be held at Hart’s at the Cupola from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.  Funeral services will be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverends Bob Brunson and Danny Parker officiating.

Jamie was born in High Point, North Carolina on January 18, 1954, to the late Charles Bobo Gibson and Oneida Redding Gibson.   He was a graduate of Augusta College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Jamie dedicated 49 tax seasons to a career he loved as a Certified Public Accountant.

Outside of his professional life, Jamie was a valued member of the Kiwanis Club of Macon, and attended North Macon Presbyterian Church, where he was known for his deep faith and compassionate spirit. He is especially appreciative of his golf buddies through the years and Christ Led Communities men’s Bible study groups. He is the heart and soul of the bereaved Gibson family, the life of any party, and a true disciple of Christ.

Jamie is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Cindy Brown Gibson of Macon; children: Jennifer Leigh Gibson Cook (Glenn) of Macon, Dr. Jana Loraine Gibson of Hilton Head, South Carolina, and James Louis “Jay” Gibson, Jr.  (Jessica) of Bluffton, South Carolina; grandchildren: Chase Gibson Cook, James Chandler Cook, and Reece Gibson Combs; brothers, Charles Bobo Gibson, Jr. of Augusta, Georgia, and Brian Gibson of Dearing, Georgia; sister, Jan Gibson Sutton (Al) of Augusta, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.
