James "Jimmy" Edward Mccallum

Tuesday, December 18, 2018, James “Jimmy” Edward McCallum, 72, of Macon, joined his daughter, Jamie McCallum Jackson in Heaven, whom he loved so much.

A service to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM at North Macon Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Hunter Stevenson officiating. The family will greet friends at 10:00 AM before the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to North Macon Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 5707 Rivoli Drive, Macon, GA 31210.

Jimmy was born in Byron, Georgia to the late Frank and Ruth Copeland McCallum. He retired from Georgia Power/Southern Company with over 44 years of service. His career allowed him to travel all over the world, dealing with power generation, which was his passion. He also served in the United States Army National Guard as a combat medic.

Jimmy served as a deacon at Vineville Presbyterian Church until he became a member of North Macon Presbyterian Church. Jimmy loved golfing and flying in his spare time. Jimmy is predeceased by his daughter, Jamie McCallum Jackson, whom he loved so much.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Diane Hester McCallum of Macon; his precious grandchildren, Mercy McCallum Jackson, Christopher Carson Jackson, Jr., Meadow Ruth Jackson and Melody Ann Jackson, whom he cherished; son-in-law, Christopher C. (Cari) Jackson; sister, Joan Rish; brother, Bruce (Hellen) McCallum; sister-in-law, Dot O’Neal; his wonderful nephews and nieces, whom were like his own that he loved so much, Eric (Stephanie) McCallum, Ethan (Phelicia) McCallum, Dwayne (Lisa) Tarpley, Gretchen Tarpley (Stuart) Brennan; god-daughter, Kris Hattaway (Ben) Vaughn; and many other relatives and friends.
