James Davis

Macon, GA- James Davis, 71, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon. Mr. Davis was born on May 28, 1943 in Marietta, Georgia to the late Eugene and Kathryn Davis. He was a 1961 graduate of Lanier High School. He retired from Atlanta Gas Light after more than 39 years of service. Mr. Davis worked in Macon, Thomaston, Eastman, and Augusta during his tenure at Atlanta Gas Light. At the height of his career he worked in the corporate office in Atlanta. He made many lifetime friends during his career. His main hobby was spending time with his family. His memory will forever be treasured by the love of his life of fifty one years, Elaine Davis; 2 daughters, Jancy Davis Roland, Macon, GA and Jamie Davis Orr (Dale) of Juliette; grandchildren, Clay Roland (Carmen), Kyle Roland, and Colby Roland, all from Eastman, GA Taylor Tomberlin and Courtney Orr of Juliette, GA great-grandchildren, Ava Roland and Ryder Roland, both from Eastman, brother, Mike Davis (Micki), Macon, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bobby and Shirley Chapman of Jones County and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hart's at the Cupola. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Bethany Baptist Church 365 Pea Ridge Rd in Juliette, GA. The family will be at 15 Sapphire Drive (Pate Rd) Juliette, the home of Dale and Jamie Orr. Flowers accepted or donations can be made in the memory of James E.
