James R. Blair

December 31, 1947 — October 3, 2012

Life is too short to wake up with regrets So, cherish every waking moment you have with the people you love. Forget about things you have no control over. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy. They just promised it would be worth it. James R. Blair, 64, of Macon, entered into eternal rest on October 3, 2012. Born in High Point, North Carolina, on December 31, 1947, Jim served in the United States Air Force for seven years and retired from Robins Air Force Base after thirty-five years of civil service. He had a tremendous passion for motorcycles and cars. Jim was an avid rider for forty-six years. He was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders, Southern Cruisers Riding Club, Chapter 104, and the Macon Mustang Club. He was a former member of the Bill Glass Prison Ministries and Christian Motorcycle Association. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Robert Edward Blair and his mother, Frances Rachel Sykes Blair. He is survived by his wife, Carol Dye Blair; two daughters, Rachel (Ray) Powers and Amanda (Steven) Fleck; stepson, Joshua Register; two grandchildren, Grayson Isaiah Powers and Emerson Rose Fleck; three sisters, Janice (Grady) Bryan, Pat Solomon and Kathy (Ray) Akridge and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM at 125 Wilson Way. Burial will be private. Register online at www.hartsmort.com. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory, Cherry Street, has charge of arrangements.
