James M. "Bill" Dopson, Jr., 91, died Saturday, December 22, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at Forest Hills United Methodist Church with the Reverend John Kinser officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Donations may be made to United Hospice, 6060 Lakeside Commons Drive, Macon, GA 31210, or the donor's favorite charity. Mr. Dopson was a longtime member of Centenary United Methodist Church and most recently a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church. He was a longtime owner of Jack's Saw Shop. Mr. Dopson was predeceased by parents, James M. Dopson, Sr. and Lois Rogers Dopson, and his son, Ronnie Dopson. Mr. Dopson is survived by his wife of 72 years, Leslie Hudson Dopson; son, Jimmy Dopson of Macon; daughter, Deborah Weaver (Ron) of Macon; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Dopson of Macon; grandchildren, Jay Dopson (Paige) of Snellville, Jennifer Hays (Greg) of Lawrenceville, Andy Dopson of Griffin, Scott Dopson (Ginny) of Macon, Melissah Weiner (Bob) of Lakeland, Florida, Jennifer Smith (Barry) of Lakeland, and James Weaver of Fort Worth, Texas; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-granchildren.
