Jacqueline Barnes Kitchens

Jacqueline Barnes Kitchens, 88, of Jones County, passed away Sunday August 2, 2026. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday August 8, 2026, at Hart's Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, with the Reverend Butch Mullis officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens.

Jacqueline was born October 23, 1937, to the late Wilbur Omand Barnes and the late Margaret Louise Gunter in Macon, Georgia. She was the successful businesswoman owning a catering business for many years, her passion was baking cakes; she was also a prolific songwriter and singer. Jacqueline was a longtime member of Greenwood Baptist Church, where her faith was an important part of her life. Of all the blessings she enjoyed, none brought her greater happiness than her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them, and the memories they created together will be forever cherished by those who knew and loved her.

Jacqueline is survived by her children; Cheryl Bentley of Georgetown, Kentucky; son, Donnie Kitchens (Tammy) of Ivey, Georgia; grandchildren: Donna Alsop (Corey), John Bentley (Courtnie), Joshua Kitchens (Steven McGinty), Cody Kitchens (Misty), Seth Kitchens (Madison), Miranda Sosebee (Nick), Angie Kitchens, and Cheyenne Brantley (DJ); and fifteen great great grandchildren, and many friends.

In addition to her parents Jacqueline is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Franklin Augustus "Frankie" Kitchens, and her brother Allen Barnes.
