Jack R. Hudson

Jack R. Hudson, 88, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024.   The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Hart’s at the Cupola. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Son of the late William Vann Hudson and Cleo Idell Scarborough Hudson, Jack was born in Roberta, Georgia on February 4, 1936.

Jack built his career as a salesman and retired from McKesson. After retirement, he worked at Carriage Hills Bottle Shop. He was known for his infectious love of life and sport. He was often seen cheering on his favorite teams: the Atlanta Falcons, the Atlanta Braves, and the UGA Bulldogs. His passion extended to the racetrack as he enjoyed watching NASCAR.

“The Drop Zone” holds many memories of where he and his best friend, Billy Ray, spent countless hours. Jack's legacy is one of joy, friendship, and an unwavering spirit that will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Jack is survived by his daughters, Lori (Chris) and Lisa; grandchildren: Emily, Jake, Lily, Wesley, Matthew, and Grace; great grandson, Jackson; and brother, Dr. Charles Hudson (Becky).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William Hudson and Wayne Hudson.
