Hugh Franklin Darity, Sr.

Macon-Mr. Hugh Franklin Darity, age 91, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012. Services will be conducted on Friday, September 28 at 11:00AM in the chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with Dr. David Hunter and Dr. Mark Hudgins officiating. The family will be at the funeral home from 10-11:00AM on Friday, September 28, 2012 to receive friends. Graveside will be private at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 6611 Zebulon Road, Macon, GA 31220. Mr. Darity, a native of Macon, graduated from Lanier High School and attended Mercer University. He served as a machinist's mate in the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 3. He retired from CSX Railroad. Mr. Darity is survived by his wife, Jeanelle Darity of Macon; daughters, Donna Hale (Van) of Macon, Terri Floros (Perry) of Ventura, CA, Susan Massey (Lee) of Macon; son, Frank Darity of Macon; 8 grandchildren, Cody Hale (Caroline) of Athens, Ben Hale (Courtney) of Asheville, NC, Pierce Hale (Katie) of Marietta, Leigh Ann Floros Delarios (Kevin) of Agoura Hills, CA, Beth Floros of Ventura, CA, Justin Massey (Christa) of Lake Sinclair, Kyle Massey of Macon, and Jacob Massey of Macon; 8 great grandchildren; and sisters, Janie Townsend of Cordele, and Betty Macnichol-Ashbacher of Orlando.
