Hubert O. Kitchens

Hubert O. Kitchens passed away on March 30, 2017. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 2:00PM at Martha Bowman Memorial United Methodist Church, 500 Bass Road, Macon, GA 31210 with the Reverend Tim Steffen officiating. Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210 or Methodist Children's Home, 304 Pierce Avenue, Macon, GA 31204. Mr. Kitchens was the son of J.D. and Betty Kitchens and the grandson of Walter Augustus and Annie Lula Jessup Kitchens, and Ross Leslie and Mary Lou Herring Kitchens. Mr. Kitchens, was born in Macon, graduated from Lanier High School for Boys in the class of 1944. He served in the United States Navy as MM3/c, in the Pacific area aboard the USS Casa Grande, LSD-13. He was a member of the American Legion Post 3, and Macon Moose Lodge 1455. Mr. Kitchens is survived by his daughters, Karen Leigh Kitchens and Gina Lu Appling (Joe) of Macon, GA; son, Duane McCoy Kitchens of Eatonton, GA; grandchildren, Southerly Amanda Stickler (Daniel), Patrick McCoy Kitchens and Mackenzie Kitchens; great grandchildren, Taylor Leigh Stickler, Summer Madelyn Stickler and Tex Hunter Stickler; half brother, Richard Ross Kitchens (Wanna) of Macon, GA and many beloved grand dogs. A Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with a private burial at Riverside Cemetery.
