Howard Clyde Smith

Howard Clyde Smith, 71, of Gray, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019.  Funeral services will be held Monday, June 24, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel with the Reverend Robby Passmore officiating.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow the service at the Elam Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Howard loved his grandchildren and was a strong advocate of Jayden’s Dream, Inclusive Playground of Jones County.  He also loved gardening, fishing and camping.  He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Eatonton.  He was also a member of Southern Millwright Regional Association.  Howard is preceded in death by his parents, William and Pearl (Galloway) Smith, 7 sisters, and 7 brothers.

Howard is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pat Smith of Gray; daughter, Tammy Gockman (Chris) Clark of Gray; son, Russ Smith of Gray; grandchildren, Mihkayla and Mihkael Smith and Jayden Gockman of Gray; brother, William H. Smith of Texas; sister, Louise Morrison of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
