Howard Dewitt Noojin: 93, of Macon, Georgia passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. Interment will follow in the Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. Reverend Steve Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Born in Gadsden, Alabama, he was the son of the late Harvey and Margaret Noojin. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Jewel Shepherd Noojin, and predeceased by six brothers and sisters. He was a member of the Ocmulgee East Baptist Church and retired civil servant from Robins Air Force Base. He was an Air Force veteran serving in World War II. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and the military was his heart. He is survived by his children: Jerri and Wilfred Rainey, Denny and Peni Noojin, Diane Walker. Grandchildren, Butch and Laurie Bryan of Gray, Ga.; Cyndi and Randy Mabia of Byron, Ga.; Keith and Shennon Walker; Pam and Lee Perkins of Macon, Ga.; Jeremiah Noojin of Woodstock, Ga.; Joshua Noojin of Macon, Ga.; Lea and Mark Bessey of Marietta, Ga. 10 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to the Ronald McDonald House, 1160 Forsyth Street, Macon, Georgia 31201.
