She also attended Mercer University, while gaining her degree from Crandall Business College. Holly retired from Georgia Wire before becoming a gracious caretaker to her late mother-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Leaptrot and both of her parents. Holly most enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with Larry to the beach and mountains, loving on her dogs, Bo Bo, Cooper, and ZZ, ringing the victory bell after a Georgia win, and trips to the Masters with her late father. She was a community steward and took great pleasure in giving Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in her local community every year.

Stevens (Royce) of Alva, Florida; uncle, Harold Hammontree (Evelyn) of Ellijay, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and special family friends.
Holly was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, avid Georgia Bulldog lover, and Elvis fan. She was a champion and a fighter to the end. Holly will be deeply missed.
