Hilda Joy Smith

Hilda Joy Smith, 86, passed from this temporal life to her eternal home on February 22, 2017 at the Coliseum Northside Hospital in Macon, Georgia. A private burial service took place on February 24, 2017 at Macon Memorial Park. Hart's Mortuary was in charge of all funeral arrangements. Mrs. Smith was committed to her Christian faith and was a dedicated and tireless member of the North Macon Church of Christ. She was devoted to her family and left many cherished memories. She was the daughter of the late Edward P. Smith and Mattie Lee Smith. She is survived by her former husband, Barney A. Smith, Sr. and their three sons; Barney (Jan) Smith, Jr., Amelia Island, FL, Scott (Debi) Smith, Macon, GA and Tony (Sonja) Smith, Auburn, AL. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Edward P. Smith, Jr. and Raymond C. Smith, Sr. Hilda Joy was blessed to share her life with her seven grandchildren: Mandy Etheredge, Trey Smith, Heather Smith, Lauren Sims, Leslie Livingston and Stuart Smith. Her joy was made complete with her three great grandchildren: Kaya Smith, Willow Smith and Cabot Etheredge. In lieu of flowers, etc., the family asks you to extend an act of kindness to someone in need in honor of our beloved Hilda Joy.
