Herman "Tommy" Thomas Everidge, Jr.

Herman Thomas “Tommy” Everidge, Jr., 87, of Macon, died Saturday, December 26, 2020.  Funeral services will be held Monday, January 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Cupola with interment at Riverside Cemetery.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Methodist Home for Children and Youth, 304 Pierce Ave, Macon GA 31204.

Son of the late Lydia Sealy and Herman Thomas Everidge, Sr., Mr. Everidge grew up working at Everidge Groceries.  He was a proud deputy sheriff with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Department, retiring as a Captain, with 30 years of service. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. After retirement, he attended Neptune Beach Baptist Church.  He was a member of Al Sihah Shrine Temple, Scottish Rite, and the Mickey Fuller Masonic Lodge. Mr. Everidge was preceded in death by a grandson, Devin Malloy.

Mr. Everidge is survived by his wife of 61 years, Martha Ann Alford Everidge of Macon; children, Cynthia Ann Gillis (Steve) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Herman Thomas Everidge, III (Carmen) of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, and Craig Everidge (Tammy) of Macon; grandchildren, Jessica Malloy, Grace Gillis, Herman Thomas Everidge IV, Kristina Everidge, Taylor Everidge, Lorey Everidge, Morgan Everidge, and Lindsey Everidge; great-grandchildren, Ainsley Malloy, Wyatt Malloy, and Lucey Everidge, with two great-granddaughters on the way, Remi Kate Glaze and Penelope Reece Logue; sister, Ann Everidge Kifer of Macon; nephew, Drew Davidson (Ginger); niece, Christy Kifer; and cousin, Eddie Oxley.
