Henry Dewitt "Pete" Peterson

Macon-Henry DeWitt "Pete" Peterson, 91, died Monday, May 9, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, May 12, 2011 in the chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with Dr. Jimmy Asbell, Jr. officiating. Burial will be private in Macon Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Mr. Peterson was born October 13, 1919 in Clinton, NC to parents, Colin H. Peterson and Sybil Spruill Peterson. He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Tucker, Georgia. He attended Elon College in Burlington, North Carolina. He was the Manager of Hartford Steam Boiler in Atlanta from 1964 until his retirement in 1984. Mr. Peterson retired from the United States Army and served his country during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He was predeceased by his brothers, Hampton, Leonard and Thackery Peterson; and sisters, Verna Howard and Lela Prevatte.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Jeffie A. Peterson; daughter, Melody Nadolni; grandchildren, Kim Nelson and Charles Nelson; brothers, Wayne and Robert Peterson; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
