Henry Pinkney Persons Jr.

Mr. Henry Pinkney (Pink) Persons, Jr, 92, passed away May 25, 2015 at Carlyle Place. The family will meet friends at the "Cupola" on Peake Road, Macon on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the charities of their choice. Hart's Mortuary has charge of the arrangements. Pink Persons Jr., son of the late Henry Pinkney Persons, Sr. and Ruth Benton Persons, was born, May 11, 1923 in Macon, GA. He graduated from Lanier High School and attended the Citadel until he entered the United States Air Force as a Lieutenant in World War II flying B-24's and B-29's.Mr. Persons was predeceased by his first wife Eden Taylor Persons, his sister, Betty Persons Ballard and the families life long friend, Ethel Mae Ross. Mr. Persons was the owner, Past President and Chairman of the Board of Murphey, Taylor & Ellis, Inc. Mr. Persons was past President of the Macon Board of Realtors and the Georgia Association of Realtors and served on the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Real Estate Brokers for 17 years. He served on the Board of Directors of the Home Federal Savings and Loan and the Georgia Bank & Trust Co. He was member and past President of Idle Hour Country Club, Member and Past President of the Macon Civic Club, a member of the U.S. Closed Golf Association, the U.S. Seniors Golf Association and was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. Mr. Persons, is survived by his wife, Ann Harris Persons, his five children, Eden Perkins (Len), Pink Persons III (Liz), Bryan Persons (Nelle), Logan Weaver (Tee), Peter Persons (Colyar), his nieces Beth Curles, Becky Lee and Ruth Suddreth, his stepchildren Liz Morin, Gina Fry, David Fry, and his care giver Evelyn Robertson. He was a wonderful "Big Daddy" to his grandchildren Taylor Miller(Jeff), Anne Jeffcoat (Brad), Pink Persons, IV, Laura Penn (Chandler), Page Munro (Euan),Benton Persons, Parker Weaver (Liz), Pierce Persons, Henry Persons, Robert Persons and his great grandchild, Annie Miller. The family would like to give special thanks to the Staff of Harrington House at Carlyle Place. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
