Helene McDaniel Wallace, 92, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, November 10, 2013 in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street with the Reverend Ron Holland officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to All About Animals, 1001 Riverside Drive, Macon, GA 31201. Helene grew up in Reynolds, Georgia and moved to Macon in the early 1940's to attend college. Upon graduation she was first employed by the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company and later the Davis Insurance Agency in the 50's. For many years she was employed at the Appleton Church Home where she considered the teenage girls living there as her own daughters. After that time she managed a staff of Resident Managers of multiple apartment complexes belonging to Big Em Company. During this time she held a residential real estate license and was active in the Home Builder's Association, and the Quota Club, a professional women's organization. Her final career was in the family business which she stayed involved in until her late 80's. She had been a member of Vineville Baptist Church since the 1950's, where she was active in the XYZ club and the Grace Sunday School Class. Helene was predeceased by her husband, Norris Wallace Jr, her Father and Mother, Paul E. McDaniel and Grace Dugger McDaniel, and a sister Eleanor McDaniel. She is survived by her son, Norris Wallace III (Pam), her grandson Norris "Buster" Wallace IV (Julie), her granddaughter Laura Wallace McGreggor( Brian). She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren, Ava Marie Wallace, Dalton Neal McGreggor, and Elizabeth Grace McGreggor, sister, Haviland McDaniel Dunaphant, of Atlanta, nieces, Eleanor Dunaphant Davis and Cindy Dunaphant Sabo,a nephew, David Dunaphant and 3 great nephews. Her love for animals was second only to her human family and various cats and dogs stayed near the center of her life. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
