Helen Moye Smith

Helen Moye Smith died peacefully Saturday, January 30, 2016. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Camellia Mausoleum of Riverside Cemetery, with Dr. Jake Hall and the Reverend Cass DuCharme officiating. The family will greet friends from 4:00PM until 5:00PM in the Grand Ballroom at Carlyle Place, 5300 Zebulon Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice. She was the daughter of George D. Moye and Gladys Moye. She was a charter member of Highland Hills Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, E. Raymond Smith. Mrs. Smith is survived by her children, Lana Hefner (Al) of Beaufort, South Carolina, Danny Lee (Linda) of Eatonton; and Camilla Dawson (George) of Macon. She is also survived by her sister, Roselyn McConnell; her brother, Russell Moye (Edie); and her brothers-in-law, Barney A. Smith, Sr. and Bobby Lee Smith (Teresa). She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Britton Hefner Glynn (Aaron), Ashley A. Hefner (Catherine), Betsy Lee, Jamie Lee, Jeremy Lee (Brigette), Irwin Frank Kern, IV (Natalia), Kathleen McCook Hofstadter (Bob), and James W. McCook IV; eleven great grandchildren; along with much loved nieces and nephews; dear friend, Jimmy McCook; and many friends. Mrs. Smith is also survived by her devoted friend of more than fifty years, Martha Ivey James.
