Macon- A memorial service for Helen V. Otto, who died Monday, December 15, 2008 will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 11:00AM. Born in Moline, Illinois on October 1, 1923, the daughter of the late Henning and Gerda Carlson, she was graduated from the University of Minnesota, B.S. and R.N. She worked as a nurse in Minnesota, Kentucky, and Macon, Georgia, retiring after ten years as the Health Coordinator for the Macon Head Start Program. Survivors include her husband, Francis R. Otto; her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce R. Otto and Linda P. Otto, grandchildren, Karl T. and Emily R. Otto, of Louisville, Kentucky; her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Christopher B. Shaw of Pepper Pike, Ohio; her son, Karl F. Otto of Rohnert Park, California; one brother, Chester E. Carlson of Jenison, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Francis Episcopal, Building Fund, 432 Forest Hill Road, Macon, GA 31210 or to a favorite charity.
