Helen Harvey Jackson

November 17, 1927 — January 7, 2026

Macon

Helen Elverta Harvey Jackson, 98, of Macon passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Lynn Haven Health & Rehabilitation. A graveside service will be held at Gray Memorial Gardens at Cedar Ridge Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Father Tommy King from St. Peter Claver Catholic Church will officiate. The family will greet loved ones following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to St. Peter Claver Catholic Church.

Born November 17, 1927, in Macon, to the late Mary Ada Ozmet and James Patrick Harvey, Helen enjoyed growing up in Middle Georgia. She earned her diploma from Mount de Sales before entering the workforce. Helen became a skilled bookkeeper, most significantly for White Bros Auto Supply. In her spare time, Helen could usually be found in her beloved garden. She was happiest when surrounded by fresh flowers to plant and nurture. In the garden or not, she was likely with her best friend of more than thirty years, Ruthie Bentley. The two shared countless memories, laughs, and adventures and will miss each other immensely.

She and her husband W. C. “Jack” Jackson shared eighteen years of blessed marriage. Hand-in-hand, they shared a family and experienced the thrills and throes of life together. Earning the titles of “mother”, “grandmother”, “great-grandmother”, and “aunt” were Helen’s proudest accomplishments and her family will always miss her loving presence. She looked forward to her reunion with Jack, and they are certainly together once more, rejoicing in Heaven.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Jackson is preceded in death by her husband, W. C. “Jack” Jackson; three brothers, James T. Harvey; Jack V. Harvey; and W. Fred Harvey, and five sisters, Mary Francis Clements; Ida Mae Moseley; Eva Mitchell; Dorothy “Dot” Washburn, and Katherine Eckert. She is survived by her closest companion, Ruthie Bentley; sister, Patti Goodrich; three children, Duane Kitchens, Karen Kitchens, and Lu Kitchens Appling (Joe); stepson, Jackie Jackson; stepdaughter, Dana Perkins; grandchildren, Southerly Stickler (Daniel); Patrick Kitchens; MacKenzie Kitchens; great-grandchildren, Taylor Stickler; Summer Stickler; Tex Stickler; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Her family would like to extend immense gratitude to both Kaye Hlaverty and the entire staff of Lynn Haven Health & Rehabilitation for their time, love, and care for Ms. Jackson through the years.
