Helen Crawford Gibson

Helen Crawford Gibson, 92, died Friday, February 1, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 4, 2013 in the chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with the Reverend Lewis Stover, Jr. and the Reverend Joey Hamrick officiating. Burial will be in Doles United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday between 3:00 and 5:00 PM at the Cupola. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Daystar Church of God, 5874 Wesleyan Drive, Macon, Georgia 31210, or Evercare Hospice, 4875 Riverside Drive, #104, Macon, Georgia 31210. Mrs. Gibson was the widow of Willie Gibson and the daughter of the late Simpkins George Crawford and the late Carrie Lizzie Pitts. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Mary Foster and brother, Quinton Crawford. Mrs. Gibson was a member of Daystar Church of God. She was also a member of the USO during World War II. Mrs. Gibson was an avid cook and catered many weddings. She was an accomplished seamstress. She and her husband founded the Bolingbroke Community Club and started the annual Bolingbroke Christmas Parade. Survivors include her daughters, Beverly Jones (Glen) of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Willette Lowery (Steve) of Stuart, Florida; son, William Gibson (Jan) of Bolingbroke, Georgia; "adopted" son, Ray Glass of Newnan, Georgia; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
