Hazel "Mama T" Floyd Tidwell, 86, of Macon, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11:00AM at Macon Memorial Park. The Reverends William Tyre and John Hughey will officiate. The family may be contacted at the residence of Peggy Moulton and will greet friends on Friday from 6:00PM until 9:00PM at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. Flowers will be graciously accepted or donations may be made to Hospice Advantage, 3902 Northside Drive, B-3, Macon, Georgia 31210. Hazel, daughter of the late Jesse James "Pete" Floyd and the late Blanche Mae Dobbs Floyd, was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Tidwell. She was a member of St. Andrews Christian Church and a former member of Macon Corinth Primitive Baptist Church. For many years, Hazel managed the snack bar at the Old Barn Skating Rink. She was an avid Santa Claus collector and was featured twice in the Ed Grisamore column. She was a second Mama to many throughout the years. Hazel is survived by her children, Peggy (Jimmy) Moulton, Ava (Glenna) Tidwell and Terrell (Teresa) Tidwell; grandchildren, Drake (Melissa) Moulton, Ross (Pam) Moulton, Jessie (Tyler) Jolissaint, Rebecca Tidwell, Leland Walker, Zachary (Olivia) Weidner and Corey and Christopher Burks; great-grandchildren, Taylor Moulton, Hunter Gunnells, Morgan Pruitt, Parker Moulton and Halee Jolissiant; her loving and faithful brother, Larry (BJ) Floyd; many nieces and nephews.
