Hazel Grace Couch

Hazel Grace Couch, 87, of Macon, died peacefully Friday, November 27, 2015, at Emory Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, November 30, 2015 at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church with the Reverends Jimmy Towson and Tommy Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family will greet friends Sunday from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, PO Box 149, Macon, GA 31202, or the Methodist Home, P.O. 2525, Macon, GA, 31203. Mrs. Couch, a lifelong resident of Macon, was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church where she was active with the Joy Sunday School Class, Paula Motes Circle, the Scampers Camping Group, and the Altar Guild. She was a very active volunteer at the Methodist Home where she was awarded the Volunteer of the Year in 2013. Mrs. Couch graduated from A.L. Miller High School in 1945. She was substitute school teacher at Central High School from 1970-2013. Mrs. Couch was loved by many people - she was often seen visiting friends at local nursing homes. She is the daughter of the late Charles Bartow Grace, Sr., and the late Thelma Ray Leonard Grace. She is predeceased by her siblings, Dorothy Martin, Charles Grace, Leonard Grace, Lloyd Grace, Bobby Grace, and Nancy Orphan. Mrs. Couch is survived by her husband, Harry Lee Couch of Macon; three children, Leigh Couch Hayes of Brandon, Florida, Tim Couch (Cathy) of Johns Creek, Georgia, and Christie Couch Jones (Christopher) of Madison, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Heather Hayes Stenger, Heidi Hayes Weitzel (Chris), Hope Hayes, Hillary Hayes Faustini (Mike), Lauren Couch Werle (Mark), Captain Taylor Couch (Maureen), Emily Couch, and Jonathan Jones; four great grandchildren, Caleb Stenger, Hailey Weitzel, Skyleigh Faustini, and Mason Werle; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
