Harvey Preston Stapleton, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 5:00PM on Friday, July 22, 2016, at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with Dr. Mark Hudgins officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Burial will be private. Mr. Stapleton was a U.S. Air Force veteran, attended the University of Georgia, and worked with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office until being appointed as one of the first Bibb County Superior Court Probation officers in Macon, from where he retired. Mr. Stapleton was the founder and first President of Western Little League, and he and his father owned and operated Circle H Ranch many years ago. Survivors include his children: Harvey P. "Chip" Stapleton, III (Mary) of Moultrie, Barry West Stapleton (Amy) of Forsyth, LeAnn Marie Stapleton Roland (J.C.) of Macon; six grandchildren: Leah and Lindsey Stapleton, Cassidy Roland Turner (Josh), Barry "Bart" West Stapleton, Jr., Andrew Stapleton, and Wesley Stapleton. Mr. Stapleton was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Joyce Millirons, parents, Harvey Preston Stapleton, Sr. and Cora Archer Stapleton, and two sisters, Margie Smith and Helen James.
