Harry Beaufort Ragland

September 23, 1965 — May 20, 2026

Harry Beaufort Ragland, 60, of Gray, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, with Reverend John Haney officiating.

Harry was born on September 23, 1965, in Manhasset, New York to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ragland. Just after his nineteenth birthday, he enlisted into the United States Navy and served his country honorably. He later built a career at Robins Air Force Base as an Aircraft Mechanic. In his spare time, he could often be found working on a painting, fine-tuning a recipe, or playing flight simulator with his little best friend, Remi, right at his side.

Harry was kind, caring, and loved his people hard. Harry was the ultimate girl dad, the most dedicated class or team parent, and always knew just right way to help. From pep talks and remembering favorite snacks to picking out the perfect gift (or three, since he could never keep a surprise), Harry’s thoughtfulness shined through each of his actions. His family was his world, his greatest pride and joy. They will certainly miss him, the way he loved, and his daily encouragement to be their best selves.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents as well as his sister, Laura Jenette Sontag. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kathy Ragland; their children, Nick Ragland and Erin Ragland (Mathew Grizzard); his brothers, Lee Ragland, Jr. and Jimmy Ragland; parents-in-law, Paul and Kathy Mathena; and his beloved, toe-biting chihuahua, Remi.
