Harriett Sheffield Buckey

Harriett Sheffield Buckey, 74, of Gray, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Hart’s Jones County Chapel with the Reverend Steve Johnson officiating.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to service.  Private burial will be at Andersonville National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bradley Baptist Church, 821 Monticello Hwy, Gray, GA 31032.

Daughter of the late Herbert Stafford and Josephine Frances Hamilton Sheffield, Mrs. Buckey was a graduate of the Warren A. Candler School of Nursing and worked as a nurse for 41 years.  She was also a professional artist.  Mrs. Buckey was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Robert George Buckey.

Mrs. Buckey is survived by her children, Elizabeth Berry (Steve) of St. Augustine, FL, and Suzanne Johnson (Jeff) of Gray; stepson, Stephen Buckey; grandchildren, Eli Reinhardt of St. Augustine, and Ella Johnson of Gray; sisters, Linda Sheffield Rice and Jo Frances Conneley; brother, Herbert Stafford Sheffield, Jr.
