H. Jammell Corley, Jr.

H. Jammell Corley, Jr., age 80, of Macon, GA passed away July 3, 2016. He was born to Harvey and Lois Hillman Corley Sr., on August 19, 1935 in Augusta, GA. He moved to Macon when he was 6 years old. He attended Pearl Stephens and Lanier. He graduated from GMA in College Park, GA and went onto The Citadel. In the Army he made glasses even in France. He returned to Macon and became President of Corley's Opticians. He was a licensed optician for over 62 years and still worked at Downtown Opticians. Jammell had been a Mason for over 50 years. He was a DeMolay; A Free Mason in Liberation Lodge #8 in France, he was a Past Master of Wohlin Lodge #390 and of Mable Lodge #255. He was the current treasurer of the Scottish Rite and a KCCH. He was a Past Potentate of Al Sihah Shrine Temple. He was a former member of the Gideon and a Ham Radio Operator. He was a member of The Wood Club and Wood Turners where he loved to make saw dust. He was a member of Vineville Baptist Church where he met his wife. Survivors include his wife of 58 years Beverly Baldwin Corley; Daughters Jannelle Corley and Susan Corley of Macon, GA; Charlene Corley Brickle (Robert) of Lizella; Brother Clifford Corley (Phyllis) of Columbia, SC and his Aunt Caroline Corley Jones (Dr. Richard) of Macon, GA, along with 9 nieces and nephews. In lieu of Flowers we ask that contributions be made to either Shriner's Children Hospital c/o Al Sihah Shrine 222 Mecca Drive, Macon, GA 31206; Rite Care c/o Scottish Rite 1985 Vineville Avenue, Macon, GA 31201; or Vineville Baptist Church 2591 Vineville Avenue, Macon, GA 31204. There will be a Celebration of Life at Vineville Baptist Church on Monday July 11th at 11am with Dr. W. Richard Kremer officiating assisted by Rev. Ron Holland, PGM Ted Collins and PM Dennis Snider. The family will greet friends from 9:30am until time of the service. Jammell loved his Khaki Pants and White Shirt, he hated TIES.
