Grace Culbreath Hinson

Macon-Mrs. Grace Culbreath Hinson died on Sunday, September 27, 2009 after an extended illness. Mrs. Hinson was born on October 29, 1920 in Union Point, GA. A memorial service will be held 11:00AM on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Ingleside Baptist Church with the Reverend Len Strozier and Dr. Timothy McCoy officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the service. Burial will be private.

A graduate of the Macon Hospital School of Nursing in 1944, Mrs. Hinson enlisted in the US Army Nurse Corp and served during the duration of WWII. Mrs. Hinson's career included 40 years with the Macon Hospital then Medical Center of Central Georgia. She was very proud to have been an integral part of developing Hospice of Central Georgia and being the first hospice nurse in Macon, GA. She served as an advocate, nurse and board member until 2002.

Mrs. Hinson was an active member of Cherokee Heights Baptist Church serving in various leadership roles and then was a Charter and current member of New Heights Baptist Church having served on the Building Committee.

Grace Hinson lived her faith in such a way as to set an example of living a Christ like life for her children, grandchildren and those who were touched by her.

Mrs. Hinson was predeceased by her husband, Bennie F. Hinson, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Ann Altman (Eddie) of Gray; her sons, Bennie F. Hinson Jr. (Vicki) and Jimmy Culbreath Hinson Sr. (Melissa) of Macon; grandchildren, Brittany H. Camak (Cooper) of Roswell, Shae Hinson(Katie) of Macon, James Culbreath Hinson Jr. and Cecilia Grace Hinson of Macon; three great-grandchildren, Annabelle Grace Hinson and Judah Hinson of Macon and Hinson Camak of Roswell; a brother, John H. Culbreath (Mary) of Union Point, GA; and a sister-in-law, Vera Culbreath of Decatur, GA.
