Byron, GA- Gladys Amason Massengale, 101, of 210 Ann Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 29, 2010. Services will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street, with the Reverends Monty Febuary and Leland Collins officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. The family may be contacted at the Cummings residence at 212 Ann Drive. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cathedral of Christ Church, 3216 Hartley Bridge Road, Macon, GA 31216 or to VistaCare Hospice, 319 Margie Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088 or the donor's favorite charity. Mrs. Massengale was a member of Swift Creek United Methodist Church for thirty-five years and a member of Cathedral of Christ Church for ten years. She was a member of the Thirty-Niners Birthday Club. Mrs. Massengale was the wife of the late William A. Massengale. She was a loving mother and friend who loved to travel, sew and cook. Mrs. Massengale is survived by her children, Carolyn (Charles) Cummings of Byron, GA, W. A. (Marie) Massengale, Jr. of Toomsboro, GA, Tommy (Sandra) Massengale of Macon, GA and Judy (Willard) Heath of Dublin, GA; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren.
