Gladys Marie Kennington Conner

Raleigh, NC- Gladys Marie Kennington Conner, died Monday, April 16, 2012 at The Covington Assisted Living Facility in Raleigh, North Carolina. Graveside services will be held Friday, April 20, 2012 at 11:00AM at Macon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends on Thursday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. Mrs. Conner was a lifelong resident of the Macon area who spent a career in retail management. The daughter of the late Lonnie Thompson and the late Annie Missouri Hamm Thompson, she was born on March 9, 1921 in Jeffersonville, Georgia. Mrs. Conner was predeceased by two sons, George F. Martin, Jr. and Henry R. Martin. Mrs. Conner is survived by her son, James R. Thompson (Nancy) of Garner, North Carolina; sister, Edith Mixon of Kathleen, Georgia; brother, Hubert Thompson (Janette) of Milledgeville, Georgia; granddaughters, Megan A. Uttam (Sharad) of Oakland, California, Marta K. Jones (Nathan) of Allen, Texas, Natalie M. Gilmore (Kevin) of Hockley, Texas, Crystal Martin of Warner Robins, Georgia and Veronica Martin of Macon, Georgia; grandson, George F.
