Gilbert "Bo" Sanders

Gilbert “Bo” Sanders, 65, of Macon, GA, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022.  The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022, at Hart’s on Cherry Street, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, in the Chapel at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.

Son of the late Mary Elizabeth Sanders, Bo was born on December 28, 1956, in Macon. He graduated from Lanier High school in 1976, and then proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He loved sports and was a member of the Lanier High School wrestling team, and he played football, baseball, and was on the wrestling team for Atholton High School in Simpsonville, Maryland. After high school, he continued playing football for Georgia Southern, and Fort Valley State University. He was a bodybuilder and enjoyed competitive weightlifting, setting many national and international records.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching his Georgia Bulldogs!  He worked as a paramedic and registered nurse in Macon and Atlanta.

Bo is survived by his daughters, Sara Sanders of Alpharetta, Georgia and Bryton Tarver of Forsyth, Georgia; son, Spencer Sanders of Perry, Georgia; sister, Sheila Wright of Athens, Georgia; brother, James Sanders (Deborah) of Eatonton, Georgia; sister, Sandra Paulk of Ellaville, Georgia; sister, Lee McBryde (Kerry) of Lizella; brother, Allen Sanders (Margaret) of Kingwood, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
