Gerue Broadus Murphy

Gerue Broadus Murphy, of Macon, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 4, 2016, at 2PM, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Macon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Reverend Robbie Jones will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church. Mr. Murphy was a lifelong member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed by Macon Linen Service before retiring after 26 yeas. Following his retirement, Mr. Murphy went to work for Robins Air Force Base. He retired from Robins after 21 years of service. Survivors: Wife of 60 years, Caroline Murphy; Son, Mike (Leigh) Murphy; Daughter, Pam Bass; Son, Ronnie (Brenda) Murphy; Daughter, Wanda Harvey; 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
