Gertrude "Trudy" Baker Daugherty

September 24, 1918 — June 13, 2011

Macon- Gertrude "Trudy" Baker Daugherty, died June 13, 2011, at the age of 92. She was the daughter of the late Ivanore Wood Baker of Atlanta and the late Frank Foute Baker of Macon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall H. Daugherty and daughter Carla McAuley. She is survived by a daughter, Deryl Dantzler of Macon; four grandsons: Kennon Dantzler of Macon, Aubrey McAuley of Austin, Texas, Ruben McAuley of Maui, Hawaii and Marshall McAuley of Valley Village, California; and six great grandchildren. Trudy Daugherty was born in Macon in 1918 and attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville. She was a civilian personnel officer at Robins Air Force Base for many years and was active in the Macon Garden Club, the Macon Little Theatre and the Museum of Arts and Sciences. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to and support of the Museum of Arts and Sciences, 4182 Forsyth Road, Macon, GA 31210. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory, Cherry Street, has charge of arrangements.
