Geraldine Pixton

Macon-Geraldine A. Pixton, 94, was born March 24, 1914 in Ellaville, GA and died October 10, 2008 in Macon, GA.

She was a graduate of Georgia State Woman's College at Valdosta with a major in English. She was a former elementary school teacher in Atlanta.

She was the daughter of the late Alonzo Alexander Arrington, Sr. and Bertha Burnam Arrington. She was the youngest of eight children.

She was a member of Vineville United Methodist Church and a member of the Vineville UMW and Ed Cook Sunday School Class.

She was the widow of Marvin F. Pixton, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Carole P. Grant (Larry) of Macon and son, Marvin F. Pixton, III (Helen) of Spotsylvania, VA; grandchildren, David W. Grant, Sr. of Macon, Leslie F. Vito (Chris) of Leesburg, VA, Kimberly P. Millar (Scott) of Charlotte, NC., Julie P. Selby of Raleigh, NC, Kim Edwards of Fredricksburg, VA, and Scott Edwards of Dallas, TX.; seven great grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt to the children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Through the years, she was an active Girl Scout Leader, worked by her husband's side in the real estate business, enjoyed her garden club, playing bridge and being with her children and grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Monday, October 13, 2008 in Ellaville, GA at 11:00AM. Family will greet friends at Hart's at the Cupola on Sunday, October 12, 2008 from 6:00-8:00PM. The family may be contacted at 4635 Brae Burn Lane, the residence of Dr. and Mrs. Larry Grant.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vineville United Methodist Church and Methodist Home for Children and Youth.
