Gerald Dean Cox

Gerald Dean Cox died peacefully surrounded by family on May 20, 2018. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Musella Baptist Church with the Reverends Joe McDaniel and Phillip Blinson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, 5962 Zebulon Road, PMB 359, Macon, GA 31210.

Gerald was born on February 25, 1941 to the late Earl R. and Annabelle Smitley Cox. He was a member of Musella Baptist Church and a graduate of Midvale High School in Midvale, Ohio. Gerald was employed with Greer Steel in Dover, Ohio where he retired after 27 years. He went on to further his career in Naples, FL with Unified Marine until he retired from there in 2003. Gerald was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Eleanor Pittman Cox, his son, Gerald D. Cox, II, and daughter, Lisa Ann Cox.

Gerald is survived by his daughter Louise (Gary) Young, of Forsyth, GA; Daughter, Laurie (Jay) Yanders, of New Philadelphia, OH; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
